At Sewing With Ease, we’re more than just a website; we’re a passionate individual dedicated to bringing you the best in sewing, quilting, sewing patterns, resources, and tutorials. Our journey began with a simple idea: to make sewing accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
We believe in people. That’s why every piece of content, every tip, and every recommendation is crafted with care and a deep understanding of sewing. Our aim is to be your go-to source for sewing and quilting resources and tutorials, whether you’re a beginner or an expert.
We Are Hiring
We are looking for two people to help take Sewing With Ease from a large library of articles to a site that people and search engines actually rely on. Both roles are remote, full time, and paid monthly in USD.
| Role | Monthly rate | Type |
|---|---|---|
| SEO Expert | $4,500 USD | Remote, full time |
| Content Writer | $3,500 USD | Remote, full time |
SEO Expert
$4,500 USD per month. Remote, full time.
This is not a checklist role. Sewing With Ease has around 200 published articles, a clean technical foundation, and a clear problem: most pages are indexed and collecting impressions, but they sit well outside the top twenty. We are not looking for someone to tell us to add more content. We are looking for someone who can work out why the existing content does not rank and fix it.
What you will own
- Topical architecture. Keyword clustering, finding pages that compete with each other, and deciding what gets merged, expanded, or pruned.
- Internal linking at scale across roughly 200 posts, including hub and spoke structure and fixing orphaned pages.
- On-page optimisation. Titles, heading structure, answer-first content, schema, and featured snippet capture.
- Technical SEO on WordPress. Crawl and index health, sitemaps, redirects, Core Web Vitals, and Rank Math configuration.
- Off-page work. Earning links that genuinely move authority, not directory filler.
- Measurement. A monthly report from Search Console and GA4 that explains what changed and why, in plain language.
What we are looking for
- At least four years doing SEO on content or affiliate sites, with results you can show and explain.
- Real fluency in Google Search Console. You can look at a position distribution and say what it means, not just export it.
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and fixing keyword cannibalisation, not just naming it.
- Comfort with Ahrefs or Semrush, Screaming Frog, and spreadsheets.
- Practical WordPress and Rank Math experience.
- Written English strong enough to brief a writer and review their work.
- Honesty about what SEO cannot fix. We would far rather hear “this will take nine months and here is why” than an optimistic forecast.
Nice to have
- Scripting for bulk audits and edits, in Python or Apps Script.
- Experience with AI search visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overviews.
- Affiliate or product review site experience.
- Digital PR or outreach experience.
Content Writer
$3,500 USD per month. Remote, full time.
We are looking for a writer who produces genuinely useful sewing content and who cares about being right. Most sewing content online is recycled from other sewing content. The specifications are wrong, the prices are years out of date, and nobody has actually made the thing they are describing. We want the opposite of that.
What you will own
- Four to six long-form articles a month, usually 1,500 to 2,500 words.
- A mix of formats: how-to guides, fabric and technique explainers, comparisons, and product roundups.
- Answer-first introductions. The reader gets the actual answer in the first two sentences, not three paragraphs of preamble.
- Comparison tables wherever a table communicates faster than prose.
- Fact checking. Every specification, price, and measurement verified against the manufacturer, not against another blog.
- Light on-page work in WordPress: headings, meta, internal links, and image alt text.
What we are looking for
- Native or near-native English, and a portfolio of published long-form work.
- You sew, quilt, or embroider. If you do not, you need to be willing to learn properly and verify everything you write.
- The discipline to open the manufacturer’s website and check a price rather than copying it from a competitor.
- A consistent, confident first-person voice, and the ability to hold it across a long article.
- Comfort working directly in WordPress.
- No AI-generated first drafts passed off as your own. Use tools if they help you work, but the thinking, the structure, and the checking have to be yours.
Nice to have
- Your own project photography.
- Experience writing product roundups and reviews.
- Garment construction, pattern drafting, or machine repair knowledge.
- Basic Rank Math or on-page SEO familiarity.
How to Apply
Email admin[@]sewingwithease.com with the role name in the subject line. Please do not send a generic application, we read every one and it is obvious.
- SEO Expert: send your CV or profile, two examples of sites you have grown with a short note on what you actually changed, and a few sentences on what you would look at first if you inherited a site with 200 indexed pages and an average position of 69.
- Content Writer: send two published samples of long-form work, tell us which sewing technique you know best, and name one article on this site you think is weak and why.
We reply to every application that answers the questions above. Applications that skip them will not get a response.
Guest Posts and Contributions
We also accept a small number of guest contributions from sewists, quilters, and embroiderers with genuine hands-on expertise. We are interested in techniques you have actually used and problems you have actually solved. We are not interested in general overviews, and we do not publish paid links.
Pitch us at admin[@]sewingwithease.com with a working title, a short outline, and a link to something you have written before.
